The new group of Programmed apprentices and aspiring professionals aren't just dipping their toes into the workforce - they're diving into a sea of skills, knowledge, and real-world experience that will shape their careers and potentially, the future of Sydney’s water management.

The group come from diverse backgrounds, each bringing a unique blend of creativity and curiosity to the table, all eager to gain practical experience in the Electrical and Mechanical disciplines.

The program aims to develop them into future leaders with essential skills for sustainability.

👷‍♀️ Skills development and training programs for apprentices 

The apprenticeship offers a robust training program combining theory and practice. Apprentices will be working on real tasks and projects under the guidance of qualified and experienced tradespeople focusing on, on-the-job training with experienced professionals.

This hands-on approach helps them tackle real-world challenges like infrastructure maintenance and water quality management. The program supports continuous learning through workshops and courses, fostering lifelong learning in the evolving industry.

💧 The importance of apprenticeship programs 

This program is crucial to ensure the long-term success of the Programmed contract with Sydney Water by future-proofing the skills required to operate Sydney Water infrastructure. This ensures we can leverage the skills and knowledge of the current workforce through training and mentoring the younger generation of trades for Sydney Waters long-term business success.
