Recognising Harmony Day & Race Relations Day

Mar 21, 2024 4:26:24 PM | Culture & Community Recognising Harmony Day & Race Relations Day

Coming together as a business to celebrate diversity and embrace inclusiveness, respect, and a sense of belonging for all.

On 21 March, Australia celebrates Harmony Day while New Zealand concurrently celebrates Race Relations Day, the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. This is a wonderful opportunity for us at Programmed to celebrate our diversity and come together as a business, embracing inclusiveness, respect, and a sense of belonging for all.

Harmony Day/Race Relations Day recognises the rich tapestry of cultures that make up our society. This year, the Harmony Day theme is #EveryoneBelongs, emphasising the importance of inclusivity and acceptance.

Australia and New Zealand are renowned for their multiculturalism, with over 300 ancestries represented and a significant portion of the population either born overseas or having at least one parent who was. Our cultural diversity is one of our greatest strengths, enriching our nations and making them vibrant places to live.

As we celebrate Harmony Day/Race Relations Day, let's take a moment to reflect on the diversity of our business and the communities we live and work in. From the multitude of languages spoken to the rich diverse backgrounds, our diversity is something to be celebrated and cherished.
