For the last week of Safe Work Month, we're turning our focus to our teams engaging in a meaningful activity to support their local community, inspired by the ways we Work and Smile 'For All Of Us'.
Taking an active role in the community and undertaking an activity to bring about a positive change can have a powerful impact. Even small positive changes or activities can have far-reaching effects and encourage other acts of generosity and kindness.
Helping in the community has also been shown to strengthen the mental and emotional wellbeing of those participating, as it creates a sense of fulfillment and purpose through helping others.
Getting involved with our Community Activity Competition
There are many ways to get involved in your local community and have a meaningful impact, and your efforts could earn your team one of three exciting prizes through our competition: a $500 e-gift card for the grand prize winner and two $250 e-gift cards for the runners-up!
Competition submissions will be judged based on community contribution (e.g. painting a community hall, cleaning up a park), social contribution (e.g. volunteering) or contribution to sustainable/environmental practices (e.g. collecting and recycling waste). We encourage you to get creative with your activities!
To enter the competition, submit a short video or photo of you and/or your team taking part in your activity using the link below. Submissions close on 15 November.
New Wellbeing Activities section in ProSafe
In support of this week’s focus, we're introducing the new Wellbeing Activities feature in ProSafe. This feature can be accessed through the Wellbeing tile on the ProSafe dashboard in the same area that the Pulse Checks are recorded, introduced in week 2 of Safe Work Month.
Carrying out activities to support wellbeing in the workplace is just as important as those we carry out to support our safety. Activities can be anything that contribute to the wellbeing of individuals, teams or the community (I.e. a walking meeting, exercise session, team building activity, mindfulness session, charitable event etc.).
