With at least 43 donations, we can bring Programmed's total of lives saved to 500 by the end of June. Why donate blood? Donated red blood cells are typically given to people with severe blood loss, such as after an injury or accident, and people with anemia (low hemoglobin). Plasma donation (plasmapheresis) collects the liquid portion of the blood (plasma). Plasma helps blood clot and contains antibodies that help fight off infections. And did you know... Donating blood reduces the thickness of your blood, allowing it to flow more freely through your body. This improves circulation and reduces the strain on your heart, promoting better cardiovascular health. Help us celebrate National Blood Donor Week by booking in your next donation and give the gift of life! How do I donate? If you can donate and are willing to give it a go, here's what you need to do: 1. **Check your eligibility** by taking the short [eligibility quiz](http://www.donateblood.com.au/eligibility#can-i-give-blood). For eligibility enquiries, please contact Lifeblood on 13 14 95. 2. **Register **- If you're a first-time blood donor, please [create a donor account](https://my.donateblood.com.au/app/utils/create_account). 3. **Sign up to our Lifeblood team** - once online, go to the 'My account' tab and select Teams.
