Committing To Breaking The Bias

Breaking the bias isn’t a quick fix. It requires unpacking and realigning beliefs and assumptions we’ve had for years. It takes bravery and self-awareness to question your thinking or call out someone else’s biases.

Our Commitment

At Programmed, we celebrate people’s differences, and we encourage our people to be accepting and inclusive of others.

We are committed to continuing the journey to build a workforce that reflects the communities we work in, a workforce where there is parity amongst all.

We will commit to our leaders, team members and peers to demonstrate awareness to ensure a workforce where everyone feels that they can bring their whole selves to work and feel empowered, respected, valued and free from bias.

We commit to achieving this by building awareness and developing a culture where we call out unacceptable behaviour without fear. We will not make decisions based on pre-conceived ideas and stereotypes and will ensure our practices, processes, systems, learning, and development are free from bias.

What we have been doing:

• Providing a gender-neutral parental leave policy

• Promoting equal and increased representation of women across all levels in our business

• Raising awareness and empowering women to make change through Women Connect Newsletter

• Committing to offering job flexibility

• Offering a return-to-work bonus superannuation contribution to parents returning to work after 26 weeks of parental leave to support and grow super savings (refer to Super Article)

• Working with Tradeswomen Australia to offer mentoring for women in trades and unconscious bias training for our leaders

• Providing a confidential, safe, simple and secure way for employees to report any concerns or issues relating to bullying, harassment, assault or misconduct in the workplace through our Open Door tool.
