2022 International Women's Day

#BreakTheBias

The theme for this year's campaign is Break The Bias.

Imagine a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination, A world that’s diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge women’s equality. Collectively we can all #BreakTheBias. Whether deliberate or unconscious, bias makes it difficult for women to move ahead. Knowing that bias exists isn’t enough, action is needed to level the playing field.

Across Maintenance, we continue our strategy towards increasing the representation of women in leadership, operational and trades across the business. We aspire to create an inclusive workplace where women and men from all backgrounds contribute to our success.

We encourage everyone to be a role model for an inclusive culture, be bold and brave to challenge gender stereotypes, and call out unacceptable language and behaviour.

However, there is more we can do. This year we would like to hear directly from our people as to what break the bias means to you and what actions we can take to make a positive change across Maintenance and FM.

Have Your Say – What Does Break the Bias Mean to You?

By Video:

Take a short video, either on your phone or recording from a Teams meeting.

Introduce yourself and tell us what ‘Break the Bias’ means to you and what are some meaningful actions people in our business can take to make positive change. Please forward them to womenconnect@programmed.com.au

Please ensure This is no longer than 1-2 minutes.

By Survey:

If you would like to share your thoughts but don’t want to be in front of the camera, then please take the time to complete this short survey  IWD Break The Bias Survey

We would then like to share these thoughts and suggestions back to the business throughout March and ultimately come up with a positive action commitment pledge for Maintenance and FM.
