A brilliant career – Adam Harding’s 32 years at Programmed

This Friday, we’re reflecting upon the outstanding career of Programmed Property Services’ Adam Harding as he looks to round out this year and a massive 32 years with a well-deserved retirement.

Adam started with Programmed in 1992 as the Wollongong Branch Manager having come from the scaffold industry. In those days, the Illawarra Branch was a protective coatings team working predominately in Bluescope. For those of you who have driven past Bluescope over the years, you would have seen the blue roofs that Programmed and other local companies were contracted to paint across the enormous Port Kembla site.

As protective coatings work continued (still to this day), Adam saw an opportunity to expand our market share and services where Programmed entered the commercial repaint markets, including aged care, strata, schools and local government. Many of the Illawarra customers we have today were started by Adam and his team.

As the Programmed business started to expand across the country, 1998 saw Adam promoted to Regional Manager Southern NSW where he was responsible for building the Canberra branch. Again, many of the customers we work with now in Canberra were developed by Adam.

In 2005, Adam was promoted to State Business Manager where he oversaw a team of 10 sales staff in Sydney. Onto 2008, Adam expressed a desire to return to his Wollongong roots as Regional Manager Southern NSW where he has remained in the role since, continuing on his leadership and management of the Canberra and Illawarra teams.

There have been many highlights during his career, but certainly the most recent is the successful contract and renewal of the Australian Parliament House contract where our Branch Managers from across the State enjoyed a tour of the site and our painting contract earlier this year.

Adam is and has been an absolute wealth of knowledge over the years. Many of Adam’s colleagues have testified to the joy of working with him over the years and have expressed appreciation for his immense contributions.

Congratulations Adam! We all wish the very best in your next chapter in life and on behalf of the business – thank you so much for all your efforts and contributions over 32 years!

Note: A big thank you to David Sillitoe for this fantastic write up.
