A warm farewell to payroll powerhouse Karen Keen

31 October 2025 12:00:00 AM | Programmed Property Services A warm farewell to payroll powerhouse Karen Keen

Ten years of kindness, care, and cups of tea ☕

This Friday, we offer a belated but heartfelt farewell to "ray of light" Karen Keen, whose retirement marks the end of over 10 years of commitment to both our business and her team mates.

After more than 10 years of dedicated service, Karen Keen from the National Service Delivery Administration team has made the difficult decision to retire.

Karen joined the payroll team at Lonsdale Street in June 2014 and hit the ground running. Her passion for numbers, commitment to customer service, and keen attention to detail helped transform the Paint payroll – a legacy that still sees her receiving calls about it to this day.

In 2016, following the Skilled Workforce acquisition, Karen took on additional weekly payroll responsibilities and quickly built an incredible rapport with staff on the ground.

Karen’s warm, kind, caring, and generous nature has been instrumental in shaping the positive culture at the Notting Hill office. She will be deeply missed. Known for taking the time to engage with everyone, she was always up for a chat and quick to pop the kettle on.

At her farewell morning tea, Daryl French, Karen’s long-serving colleague, shared a list of common themes staff mentioned when signing her farewell card:

  • Positive and cheerful nature
  • A ray of light in the office
  • Welcoming and kind
  • Always willing to lend a helping hand A breath of fresh air
  • Always takes time to check in with others
  • Makes everyone feel important and remembered
  • Joyful presence with warmth and professionalism

When invited to speak, Karen shared just how tough the decision had been:
“The team I’ve worked with over the years has been incredible. It was one of the hardest decisions I’ve had to make because I genuinely enjoy coming into work and seeing everyone each day.”

The Service Delivery Team – and everyone at Notting Hill – will miss Karen’s presence and take inspiration from the way she truly embodied the spirit of Programmed.

Karen, your presence will be truly missed… almost as much as your passionfruit and jelly slice.
