Apprenticeship to A-Grade - Holly's next chapter

Written by Communications | 14 May 2026 2:00:03 PM

This Friday, we’re recognising an exciting milestone for Holly Howard, whose journey from apprentice to qualified electrician highlights the power of opportunity, support and hard work.

"Holly Howard recently completed her apprenticeship and officially qualified as an A-Grade Electrician. Off the back of her performance, she’s now stepped into a full-time role with PET,  a well-earned milestone and a great example of what we can unlock when combining opportunity and genuine support.

Her journey reflects why apprenticeships matter. They create real pathways, build confidence through hands-on experience, and allow people to grow into their trade. For our business, they’re how we invest in capability, culture, and the future of our teams. For women in trades, stories like Holly’s show what’s possible, and that there’s a place to thrive in Programmed.

"Being offered a role after my apprenticeship means a lot. The skills and connections I've made as well as the experience and support I've received has been amazing. It's helped me grow professionally and personally.  I’m looking forward to continuing to learn and contribute as part of the team.” — Holly

As her manager Jono McConville puts it, offering Holly a full-time role was an easy decision. Her attitude, work ethic, and attention to detail speak for themselves. The Electrical Technologies Defence team is proud to see her continue her career with us.

A great achievement. A great example. Plenty more to come.

Congratulations, Holly!"
