This Friday, we celebrate Property Service's Big Kahuna from the Darwin office, whose consistency and integrity has transformed the branch and taken it to new heights. Tasmanian Bert Woodward has lasted the Northern Territory heat for 21 years with style, grit, and the occasional questionable fishing tale. It's a Territory-sized milestone worth celebrating!
In November, we celebrated Bert Woodward as he clocked up an incredible 21 years with Programmed's Commercial Painting team.
Since joining the Darwin team back in 2004, Bert has been a steady hand in the heat and a master of customer relationships. His no-fuss style, cool head and trademark routine have become part of the branch’s DNA.

Bert brings experience, consistency and quiet confidence. He’s a true Territory Icon, lifting the Darwin branch from $60k EBIT to over $1 million multiple times, picked up countless awards, and somehow still finds time for golf, barra fishing and supporting the legend known as “Pete the Pirate” on the home front.
What the team says:
- “Two hours in the Darwin heat doing his own measuring — that would kill the average person. He’s a legend… but a crap fisherman.” — Paul Vigar
- “Bert’s routine never changes, and that’s the magic. His results are unmatched.” — Lee Kell
- “He turns customers into friends and friends into family. Darwin CP wouldn’t be what it is without him.” — Kyle Burton
For Bert, what started as “just a job” became an addiction — the people, the relationships, the wins, and the buzz of delivering great work in the Top End.
Programmed is proud to recognise Bert’s 21 years of outstanding service, his commitment and the difference he’s made to people and customers across the Territory.

Happy 21st, Big Kahuna — here’s to many more barra, birdies and big wins.
Cheers to you, Bert!
