"One of the projects that our PMO team in WA is delivering under the MSA contract is to supply and install a new elevator at a school for special needs students. The construction works for this project includes the erection of tilt panels to form the shaft for the new elevator.
Recently, the Project Coordinator, Kiri Galvin (Orange High Vis), took 2 of her fellow Project Coordinators, Lisa Roberts and Zane Thurston, along to a site visit to witness a Crane lift for these tilt panels at the school.
Within our contract there are not often tilt panels installed, so Zane and Lisa attended site as they hadn’t seen tilt panel installation before and took the opportunity to learn about the preparation work required prior to such a crane lift and what is involved on the day of the lift. For example, a few key items that the team verified on site were to ensure that the lifting plan was adhered to by the contractor and that they had all their safety documents and credentials in place.
The smiles on the photo personify the heart and soul and team spirit of our team, with team members supporting each other and giving each other exposure to opportunities to learn from each other and gain experience … Work and Smile ‘For We (Team)’
The project itself and what it will deliver also links to the Work and Smile Why of “For all of Us (Society and Community)”, as the Elevator will make the lives of numerous special needs students easier at this school, giving them the ability to freely move between the different levels of the school and having access to all learning areas."
An awesome example of how our every day work benefits our local communities as well as offering opportunities for our teams! Great work, all.
