This Friday, Programmed Facility Management's Melbourne Water team gets chilly with an ice bucket challenge, raising vital funds for FightMND!
On a brisk winter day in Melbourne, a number of our water contracts, lead by Melbourne Water, convened at the Eastern Treatment Plant for a lunch event in support of FightMND.
FightMND was established 10 years ago, with the purpose of finding effective treatments and ultimately a cure for Motor Neurone Disease. Since then, the organisation has been the voice and guiding star for Australians who want to fight 'the Beast'.
Motor Neurone Disease is a debilitating illness that gradually takes away the patient's use of their arms and legs, their ability to eat and swallow, their speech, and ultimately their ability to breathe... all in an average timeframe of just 27 months.
Our courageous team members showed their support by braving the brutal cold (clad in some pretty fantastic outfits) - you can check out their efforts and reactions in the video below!
Together, the team was able to raise a total of $1601 combined from direct donations and sales of beanies and socks - what an effort!
