This Friday, New Zealand's Jarod Olivecrona hits the asphalt with speed and style in the International Drifting Cup at Sydney Motorsport Park!
Jaron, a Project Manager in our Facility Management New Zealand team, recently crossed the ditch to Australia to compete in the elite sporting event. Here's what he had to say about the experience:
"Recently, I had the incredible opportunity to ship my pro drift car to Sydney, Australia, to compete in the International Drifting Cup at Sydney Motorsport Park.
I’m truly grateful for the support I received from Programmed New Zealand, which allowed me to take time off work to pursue this exciting opportunity.
For those unfamiliar with drifting, think of it as a high-speed dance with your car. A panel of three judges sets specific points on the track, known as clipping points, where you need to position your car with precision. The competition involves leading and chasing another driver, requiring speed, style, and perfect execution at each point. It’s a challenging sport, especially considering cars aren’t built to drift sideways!
This experience was a standout “Work and Smile” moment for me. Having support from my workplace beyond the office makes my job even more rewarding.
Thank you, Programmed!"
What an incredibly cool story and heartwarming example of Work and Smile 'For Me' and 'For We'! Big thanks to Jaron for sharing.
