Team spirit on the move with Chloe's Bloody Long Walk and WA's Amazing Race

20 June 2025 12:00:00 AM | Programmed Facility Management Team spirit on the move with Chloe's Bloody Long Walk and WA's Amazing Race

Big challenges and big accomplishments. 🏃‍♀️

This Friday, we marvel at two challenges that put our Facility Management team members to the test and pushed them to their limits, both conquered in an incredibly admirable fashion. We take a look at Chloe Caruana's inspirational efforts on The Bloody Long Walk and the WA team's Amazing Race adventure.

Chloe Caruana, Operational Excellence Manager, recently undertook an incredible feat in completing the 35km Bloody Long Walk on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, supporting people affected by mitochondrial disease. Chloe's story is truly outstanding - we'll let you read it in her own words:

"I did a thing. A very big, very bloody long thing.

Today, I walked 35km as part of the Bloody Long Walk – something that would have felt impossible just a few months ago.

What most people don’t know is that in mid-March, I underwent bariatric surgery and had 80% of my stomach removed. I didn’t share it publicly at the time, but now feels like the right moment.

Since surgery, I’ve taken only a week off work, jumped straight back into travelling interstate almost every week, packed a stick blender in my luggage like it was totally normal, trained in tiny gyms across rural NSW, and pushed myself every step of the way toward this goal.

This walk wasn’t just a physical challenge – it was a milestone in taking control of my health, showing up for myself and my kids, and proving what I’m capable of.

I’m incredibly proud of how far I’ve come.

Massive love and thanks to Dr Jesse Beumer (Morphe Clinic) – your skill and support helped me change my life.

To anyone else quietly going through big change: I see you. You’re stronger than you think. 💪"

Amazing! Congratulations, Chloe.

In another physical (and mental) challenge, our Facility Management WA team took part in a thrilling challenge that tested their problem-solving skills, teamwork, resilience, and cardio.

The Amazing Race challenge was a three-hour event that had teams racing against the clock (and each other) over a 3km course, decoding clever clues, solving puzzles, and navigating their way through a series of checkpoints across the area.

The race was a fantastic way to boost morale, build stronger team bonds, and just enjoy each other’s company outside the usual work setting. The variety of tasks made sure everyone’s strengths were in play - whether you were the code-breaker, the navigator, the motivator, or the one cheering the loudest.

A huge thank you to the teams who made it an event to remember!
