Today, 11 September is R U OK? Day 2025 – a national day of action that reminds us all to check in with the people around us and ask a simple but powerful question: “Are you OK?”
In our busy work lives, it’s easy to overlook the signs that someone might be struggling. R U OK? Day encourages us to pause, connect, and support one another.
It's not just today - it's every day
While R U OK? Day shines a spotlight on mental health, the message is clear - we should be checking in with each other regularly. Whether it’s a quiet moment over coffee, a quick chat on site, or a message to someone working remotely – every conversation counts.
By having regular, meaningful conversations, you build trust and normalise talking about what’s really going on, so when the people in your world find themselves struggling, they know you’re someone they can talk to.
How you can get involved
- Take a moment to ask someone, “Are you OK?”
- Listen with empathy and without judgment.
- Encourage action – help them find support if needed.
- Follow up – check in again soon.
