Breaking ground at Sydney Airport with Seli Mailangi

At Programmed, we're committed to building a workforce that reflects the communities we serve.

Earlier this year, we were thrilled to welcome Seli Mailangi - our first female apprentice at Sydney Airport, starting her career with Programmed in electrical maintenance.

Bringing with her a strong Islander heritage and fresh perspective to the team, Seli is already making a meaningful impact. James Wong, an experienced electrician and mentor, has been working alongside Seli and guiding her through hands-on learning in a fast-paced environment.

🤝 Our work at Sydney Airport

We've proudly supported Sydney Airport for years, delivering 24/7 facilities management, asset maintenance, and engineering services. In 2025, our ongoing work was recognised when the contract was recommended for ISO55001 Asset Management System certification, a testament to our team’s commitment to performance, reliability, and safety.

🌱 Representation that powers the future

Seli’s arrival marks a powerful step forward in growing gender and cultural representation in the trades – and we couldn’t be more excited to support her journey.

Her story reflects the values that drive us - creating real opportunities, fostering diverse talent, and building stronger teams for the future.
