Celebrating World FM Day 2025 - A message from CEO Graeme Hurn

May 14, 2025 10:00:00 AM | From Our Leaders Celebrating World FM Day 2025 - A message from CEO Graeme Hurn

Thriving in a World of Change.

Today, 14 May is World FM Day – an opportunity to join our colleagues across the facilities management industry in celebrating the unsung heroes who keep our environments running safely, smoothly, and sustainably every day.

World-FM-Day-2025

This year, the theme is ‘Thriving in a World of Change’, putting the focus on our resilience and adaptability in a landscape of shifting demands and advancing technology. As FM professionals, we both thrive amid change and drive transformation, ensuring long-term value for our customers and communities.

At Programmed Facility Management, this year’s theme is particularly timely. We are deeply invested in our own technological transformation and continuous exploration of new, innovative solutions that will enable our business to succeed now and well into the future.

Innovative technology making work smarter and safer

Across the business, we’ve seen innovation come to life in some exciting ways. Our drone program is a great example of how we’re using cutting-edge technology to work smarter and safer. From surveying remote sites like Great Barrier Island in New Zealand, to conducting roof inspections and optimising safety for our teams, drones are changing the game for how we deliver value to our customers, doing so with precision, efficiency and care.

Elevating and optimising our digital systems

Digital transformation has been a cornerstone of our Mid-Term Business Plan, recognising technology as a critical driver for operational efficiency, business growth, and customer-focused innovation. Project NextGen, a two-year project focused on elevating our technology systems, is well underway, with our first phase set to go live at the beginning of next month. We know that optimising our systems is crucial to navigating changing demands and supporting our current and growing business needs, and we’re dedicated to delivering platforms that make your job as simple and efficient as possible.

Upskilling our team members to be future-ready

Meanwhile, we continue to invest in the learning and development of our teams at every level. With our people as our most important asset, it’s essential we equip each and every team member with the skills they need to thrive in our industry and beyond, even in the face of continuous change.

At our most recent Town Hall, we took a deep dive into just a few examples of the vast array of learning and development opportunities that we have on offer, and how we’ll continue to deliver programs that enable our people to meet the challenges of a changing world head on.

Whether it’s through new leadership programs, mentoring opportunities or on-the-ground upskilling, we’re creating more ways for our people to grow and succeed. Because in a world of change, the best way to stay ahead is to keep learning.

Above all, it’s your commitment, curiosity, and adaptability that drives our success. Thank you for embracing change, looking forward, and continuing to support each other and our customers every step of the way.

Happy FM Day – here’s to thriving, now and into the future.

Take care and stay safe,
