IT in Action – A faster, more reliable network with VMware VeloCloud

Behind the scenes, Group IT has completed a major upgrade to the way our network operates across the business - and it’s already delivering benefits.

The network has successfully transitioned from the legacy Citrix SD-WAN platform to the modern VMware VeloCloud solution. In simple terms, this means the technology that connects our offices and systems is now more stable, more secure, and better equipped to support how we work today, and into the future.

This upgrade was essential as our previous network technology was nearing the end of its supported life. Rather than waiting for issues to arise, the team took the opportunity to modernise and strengthen our network foundation.

A big job, delivered across regions

This was a significant, multi-stage project that involved replacing network equipment at 154 locations:

• Australia: 132 sites
• New Zealand: 21 sites
• Kuala Lumpur: 1 site

Along the way, the team also completed on-site recabling and equipment clean-ups to further improve network stability and reliability.
