Mark your calendar: R U OK? Day Webinar on 12 September

Written by Facility Management | Sep 9, 2024 11:30:00 PM

R U OK? Day, observed on 12 September, empowers and inspires all of us to have regular, meaningful conversations to connect with and support anyone who might be going through a difficult time.

This year's theme is 'Ask R U OK? Any Day'.

The theme emphasises the importance of consistently looking out for one another, regularly checking in, and having supportive conversations about mental health.

Life's challenges can sometimes leave us feeling overwhelmed, unsure, or unsettled. In those moments, it’s reassuring to know there’s someone to talk to and help us navigate through. Often, people may not voice their struggles, which is why it’s crucial to be aware of what’s happening in their lives and to notice any changes in their behaviour.

  • Are they facing relationship difficulties?
  • Are they under increased or constant stress?
  • Are they dealing with financial troubles?
  • Have there been major changes at work or at home?
  • Have they experienced the loss of someone or something important to them?
  • Are they dealing with health concerns?

These situations can be tough to manage alone. By asking, “Are you OK?” and engaging in a meaningful conversation, you can help those you care about through life’s ups and downs.
