Successful outcome for Aboriginal Communities and Programmed in NSW
We’re excited to share that the Aboriginal Housing Office (AHO) has partnered with Programmed Facility Management to deliver a transformative initiative aimed at improving housing quality and creating long-term employment opportunities for Aboriginal communities in New South Wales.
This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to cultural safety, community empowerment, and sustainable outcomes.

Scope of Work
The Aboriginal Housing Office is a statutory authority under the Aboriginal Housing Act 1998 (NSW), responsible for planning and administering policies and programs for Aboriginal public housing.
Through the Murdi Paaki Region Aboriginal Housing Program, AHO aims to address urgent maintenance needs across 516 homes - improving safety, comfort, and stability for tenants.
AHO’s program will focus on refurbishing and maintaining Aboriginal housing, with Programmed proud to support this by delivering maintenance across Central and West New South Wales. Our work includes upgrades to bathrooms and kitchens, internal painting, flooring replacement, electrical and plumbing improvements, external enhancements, and accessibility modifications.

About our Partnership with AHO
Beyond housing upgrades, we will work closely with AHO to drive skills development through its structured Aboriginal Workforce Program, hiring apprentices and building local capability to support long-term economic growth.
Programmed brings a proven track record of managing more than 75,000 homes across nine government and community housing authorities across Australia and New Zealand. Through our 20 years of experience in maintaining and upgrading social and community housing, we understand the importance of enhancing quality of life for tenants.
This partnership is about more than housing; it’s about creating sustainable futures for the communities we serve.
Programmed will work closely with AHO, the NSW Aboriginal Land Council, Local Aboriginal Land Councils, and Aboriginal Community Housing Providers to uplift local economies, embed cultural safety, and deliver positive whole-of-life outcomes.
The mobilisation phase is now underway, with the official go-live on 7 April 2026. This partnership marks an important step toward improving housing standards and creating lasting opportunities for Aboriginal communities in the Murdi Paaki Region.
Well done to everyone involved in bringing this partnership to life.
