As a result of Programmed’s recent acquisition of the Australian arm of Urban Maintenance Systems (UMS), I am pleased to share our associated partnership with award-winning social housing provider HousingFirst.
In line with our Mid-Term Business Plan ambitions to partner with culturally aligned organisations and to strengthen our housing sector capabilities, HousingFirst provides social housing to over 2,000 people across Melbourne with the goal to increase the supply of secure, high quality, affordable housing.
Our ongoing partnership with HousingFirst, which was originally established through UMS in mid-2022, will see us provide planned and responsive maintenance and project works to occupied and vacant dwellings, as well as other buildings and land, which HousingFirst has the responsibility to maintain.

This is the first of such integrations of a UMS contract into the broader Programmed business, with a portion transitioning to Facility Management and the remaining Grounds and Graffiti business integrating into Property Services. We look forward to bringing more across to our Programmed community over time.
Similar to yesterday’s announcement of our partnership with Homes NSW, the integration of the HousingFirst contract associated with the UMS acquisition joins a broad existing housing customer base across Australia and New Zealand, further strengthening our capabilities in the sector.
Additionally, HousingFirst’s vision for affordable housing accessible to all is a fundamental component in allowing us to continue our community engagement and support efforts for a healthy and thriving society.
