A bright future for Facility Management - A message from EGM Matthew Cotterall

Apr 24, 2026 9:00:01 AM | From Our Leaders A bright future for Facility Management - A message from EGM Matthew Cotterall

Taking a moment to connect and share a few early reflections, along with some exciting updates from across our business.

As I reflect on my first month stepping into the role of Executive General Manager of Programmed Facility Management, I wanted to take a moment to connect and share a few early reflections, along with some exciting updates from across our business.

I’m incredibly proud to be part of our Programmed team and energised by the opportunity to lead our Facility Management business into its next phase of growth and development. Since joining Programmed in 2023, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside many of you across our ANZ operations, and what stands out to me every day is the quality of our people and the strength of our culture.

I believe the true strength of our business is in our people – the pride we take in our work, the way we work together, and the way we strive to deliver an outstanding level of service to our customers every day.

As I transition into my new role, my focus is simple - to build on the strong and established foundation we already have, to listen closely, and to lead with transparency, respect for our values, and a clear focus on our shared goals.

While we’ve achieved a great deal over the past few years, I firmly believe our best is still ahead of us. Whether it’s continuing to win new work, finding smarter and more innovative ways to operate, strengthening our customer relationships, or investing in our people and culture - there is a lot to be excited about, and I’m looking forward to what we’ll achieve together.

Celebrating 75 Years of Programmed

26544 Programmed 75 Years - Experimentation - 75 Years Lockup - V1 - LightThis year also marks an important milestone for our business as we celebrate 75 years of Programmed. It’s a moment to recognise the generations of people who have shaped who we are today, and to reflect on the legacy we continue to build. That history gives us a strong platform, but it’s what we do next that matters most.

Introducing Carl Rogers: Our new Head of Facility Management - New Zealand

As we celebrate our rich history, we also look forward to an exciting future shaped by strong leadership across our business. In that spirit, I’m delighted to announce the appointment of Carl Rogers as Head of Facility Management – New Zealand.

Carl Rogers

Since joining Programmed at the end of 2023, Carl has played a key role in leading the successful delivery of our largest New Zealand contract with Auckland Council. He has consistently demonstrated strong leadership, building high-performing teams and driving improvements in both operational and financial performance, all while maintaining a clear focus on our people, our customers, and our culture.

Carl brings over 20 years of experience in the FM industry and his deep industry knowledge, combined with his track record of delivery and partnership, positions him well to lead our New Zealand FM business into its next phase.

I look forward to working closely with Carl and supporting our New Zealand based team as we step into this next exciting chapter of growth and development for our New Zealand business.

Strong momentum with renewed and new partnerships

In WA, we’re thrilled to announce the renewal of our WA Housing contract for a further year through to June 2027. This renewal is testament to the trust and confidence our customer continues to place in us, built on the strong and consistent outcomes we’ve delivered together over the past 16 years.

Shortly, we will also be announcing a new customer win in the Resources sector that keeps us firmly set on our strong growth trajectory – so stay tuned for this next update.

Across our broader Facilities Management business, we have a number of new and exciting growth opportunities ahead, and I look forward to sharing more updates with you over the coming months as these opportunities continue to take shape.

The positive path ahead

Over the coming weeks, I’ll continue to spend time out in the business, with planned visits to Western Australia and New South Wales throughout May. If you see me on site or in the office, please take the opportunity to say hello - I’m always keen to connect, hear your perspective, and understand what’s working well and where we can improve.

I’m also looking forward to our next Programmed Facility Management Town Hall, which is currently being planned for early June in our NSW Parramatta office. Our upcoming Town Hall will be a great opportunity to come together, to reflect on the success of last year, and to share updates on our key strategic priorities and objectives over the next 24 months.

Thank you for the valuable work you do every day. I’m looking forward to getting out and meeting more of our Programmed team in the coming weeks.

Creating a strong future together,

Matthew Cotterall
