National Reconciliation Week - Reconciliation is not just a one off

Jun 2, 2026 12:58:02 PM | Culture & Community National Reconciliation Week - Reconciliation is not just a one off

National Reconciliation Week is 27 May - 3 June 2026.

We invite all employees to join us in commemorating National Reconciliation Week by taking a moment to pause, reflect, and consider how each of us can be 'All In' every day through small, practical actions that fit our role, our workplace, and our everyday lives.

National Reconciliation Week Series

Hear from Char Sheppard, Benjamin Blythe, and Gregory Lackey as they share insights from our National Reconciliation Week video series.

They discuss employee initiatives, social procurement, and meaningful partnerships, and explore how these efforts are driving real impact, strengthening communities, and shaping a more inclusive future.

Resources

Here are four simple ways you can take part. You’re welcome to choose one, a few, or all, whatever feels meaningful and achievable for you.

Micro Actions worksheet

  • This worksheet is not a checklist. It’s a space to think, reflect, and choose a few small actions that feel realistic and relevant to you.

  • You may complete one section, a few sections, or simply use the prompts as a guide for reflection.

Kids colouring in activity

  • We’re also running a colouring in competition for children and young people in your family.

  • This is a simple way to involve families in National Reconciliation Week and encourage conversations about respect, connection, and inclusion at home.

Attend or host an event

  • If you’d like to get involved beyond the workplace, you can attend a local National Reconciliation Week event or hold a small event within your team or location.

  • To find events happing in your community you can chek Reconciliation Australia's website.

Show your support in meetings

  • You can also show your support by adding a NRW background to your online meetings or displaying posters at your office or work site. You can find them here.

  • These are small visible actions that help keep the conversation going throughout the week.

More ways to get involved

In addition, there are numerous other ways you can actively engage with National Reconciliation Week and contribute to the reconciliation process:

🌟 Diversity Champions

Register to become a Programmed Diversity Champion. This can drive engagement and celebrate diversity at a local level. Anyone can be a Local Diversity Day Champion. You can collaborate with managers to organise meaningful celebrations, such as hosting a morning tea, arranging team activities, inviting guest speakers, or organising volunteer days at local charities.

💼 Support First Nations Businesses

Show your support for First Nations businesses by purchasing products and services from First Nations owned enterprises. This not only contributes to economic empowerment but also helps foster greater recognition and appreciation of First Nations entrepreneurship. Supply Nation is a great source of information on verified First Nations businesses.

💡 Learn More

There are many educational resources available to deepen your understanding of First Nations cultures, histories, and issues. This could include books, documentaries, podcasts, online courses, and articles from reputable sources. Consider your own attitudes, biases, and privilege, and engage in open and respectful discussions with colleagues, friends, and family members about reconciliation. Creating space for dialogue and learning can lead to greater awareness and empathy.
