Supporting communities is about more than what we do at work. It's about helping people when they need it most.
Following recent severe weather events, a need was identified within the Meremere community for additional emergency accommodation resources should residents be displaced from their homes during an emergency.
Thanks to the generosity of Bunnings Warehouse Takanini, the Meremere Community Centre has received 50 inflatable mattresses, 25 pumps and 50 storage boxes to help support community members during challenging times.
We're also proud of Programmed team member Ben Brown, who volunteers with both the Meremere Community Development Committee and the Te Kauwhata Community Response Group. Ben helped transport the donated items to the community centre using a Programmed electric vehicle and trailer.
Stories like this highlight the power of organisations and individuals working together to strengthen community resilience and emergency preparedness.
Did you know that Programmed offers eligible employees two days of paid volunteer leave each year to support you to contribute your time and skills to causes that matter in your local community? Check out our Volunteer Guideline to find out more.
