Going above and beyond.

This Friday, we share a story about a recent Property Services recipient of a Programmed Difference Award who has been impressing people far and wide, from his fellow team members to University bigwigs!  👨‍🎓

Damien Morrow has gone beyond just maintaining The University of Adelaide's Roseworthy Campus, to becoming part of its fabric. As a skilled groundskeeper with Property Services' SA Open Space Team, Damien has become regarded as part of the university family, with his impact recognised by his team as well as the faculty staff and students who experience the campus every day.

His dedication was recently recognised with a Programmed Difference Award, as testament to his outstanding work. As Mark Branson, Campus Manager of the University’s Waite & Roseworthy campuses, put it: “Damien always goes above and beyond—whether it’s keeping the ovals green, the pathways clear, or responding to urgent requests, he gets it done with minimal fuss. The university is extremely grateful for his can-do attitude, dedication, and ability to tackle any challenge that comes his way.”

According to Martin Crabb, Branch Manager, Open Space SA, who nominated Damian for the award, Damien’s leadership extends beyond site presentation: “Under his guidance, the team upholds the highest safety standards, maintaining an incident-free record for over three years. His proactive approach and strong work ethic consistently earn praise from faculty and university leadership, who value his role in keeping Roseworthy looking its best.”

David Purdie, Manager, Roseworthy College Division of Academic & Student Engagement, highlights Damien’s contribution: “The work Damien and his team do is truly important to the student and staff experience. His dedication makes a real difference, and we’re incredibly grateful for his efforts.”

Damien’s warmth and commitment make him a standout. He’s the go-to for keeping the campus in top shape, and this award is well deserved. Congratulations, Damien!
