Wildlife hero Ben Hasler leaves no bird behind

5 June 2026 12:00:03 AM | Programmed Facility Management Wildlife hero Ben Hasler leaves no bird behind

A little kindness goes a long way 🐦

This Friday, we’re highlighting a great example of environmental stewardship, with Ben Hasler going above and beyond to rescue an injured Little Corella and connect it with specialist care.

"On Wednesday morning, Ben Hasler came across a Little Corella in distress, being attacked by a Raven. Noticing the bird was in poor condition and needed urgent care, Ben stepped in to help.

After contacting several organisations, he was referred to WA Wildlife Hospital, where the bird was admitted for treatment. Ben has been given a reference number and will follow up next week on its recovery.

If the bird recovers, the team aims to release it back where it was found. Little Corellas are native to Western Australia and, while now protected, were once at risk due to population decline, making this rescue especially meaningful.

A great example of initiative and care for the environment, well done to Ben."

Amazing work, Ben! We hope the little guy recovered in the end. Thanks to Maddy Chapman for the submission.
