At Programmed, we all have part to play in making sure all of us go home safe to our loved ones every day. Our monthly Spotlight on Safety series is designed to help us keep safety in mind as our top priority and to champion our positive safety culture.
Our focus for August is Driving and Mobile Plant. We also have a few more general safety updates in this month's edition - scroll down to read more.
We ensure vehicles and mobile plant are only operated by those deemed competent, and risks arising from their operation are controlled, through adequate job planning, regular inspection and maintenance schedules.
Back to Basics - Safe Work Essentials
Driving and Mobile Plant is one of our Safe Work Essentials.
Appropriate use of company vehicles
There are a number of guidelines that must be followed when using a company vehicle, including what constitutes proper use, who can drive the vehicle, and vehicle care and maintenance. You can view these guidelines in the Toolbox Talk below.
Verification of Competency (VOC) Assessment
Our VOC Assessment process and tool is now live and available in ProSafe - this can be used to verify that operators of mobile plant are competent. The VOC process covers a large amount of plant and equipment, with more still to come.
Use of the tool is not limited to the HSEQ team, however VOC Assessors must have a Cert IV in Training and Assessment (TAE), or be trained and deemed competent by an approved assessor. For further information, including a user guide and training, contact our HSEQ team.

12 September is R U OK Day, a day to inspire and empower everyone to meaningfully connect with the people around them and start a conversation with those in their world who may be struggling with life.
