Your voice, our future - Employee Engagement Survey coming soon

Sep 25, 2024 11:40:27 AM | From Our Leaders Your voice, our future - Employee Engagement Survey coming soon

An update from Programmed Facility Management CEO Graeme Hurn.

At Programmed, all of our team members have the opportunity to make an impact on our future. Every day, we reinforce our organisation’s values through the actions and contributions of our Programmed community, continually informing and building a workplace we can all be proud of.

On 1 October, we will launch our 2024 Employee Engagement Survey. This is a fantastic opportunity to have your voice heard directly, sharing your thoughts, ideas, and feedback to help us continue making Programmed a great place to work.

Your insights are incredibly valuable, helping us to drive meaningful change across our Facility Management business. This year, all employees, including those in the field, are invited to participate and make a tangible impact.

The actions we've taken from our last engagement survey

When we last heard from you, we identified three strong themes for improvement – enhanced communication, streamlined systems and processes, and increased learning and development.

Here’s how we’ve responded:

Enhanced communication

We’ve increased the frequency of updates on our Mid-Term Business Plan (MTBP), business changes, and contract wins, as well as more visits by leadership to our local teams.

We’ve introduced FM NewsHub – a new internal communications resource offering the latest news and updates from across Australia and New Zealand, available to and accessible by all of our team members.

We’re also putting more emphasis on recognising and celebrating our teams’ successes and contributions through our Programmed Difference Awards, Service Recognition Programs, and by sharing your stories through our Work and Smile Fridays blog.

Systems and process improvements

We’ve been making progress on our technology and digital systems goals where I’m excited to confirm that we have made a strategic decision to move to an upgraded version of our current Work & Asset Management solution (Maximo) with D365 to be used in the back end as the Financial Solution.

This platform is exciting as it will form the nucleus of the future stack for our business, allowing a far more streamlined, efficient, and cost-effective solution across our operations.

Learning and development

Over the last year, we’ve invested in training and career growth programs such as Leadership Essentials, Project Management, Leader as Coach, Mental Health First Aid, and Internal Mentoring. You can always find learning and development opportunities through the PageUp Learning Library, as well as on the homepage of FM NewsHub.

Review & Reflection discussions also remain a priority, encouraging more career conversations with line managers.

We know that many of our leaders have also taken important steps to address feedback and drive engagement at a local level. The way that we listen to our teams and implement changes is fundamental to the creation of a positive and engaging workplace.

What happens next?

The engagement survey will open on Tuesday 1 October and close on Monday 21 October.

On Tuesday 1 October, you will receive an email from Culture Amp with a link to the survey. Team members can also complete the survey by scanning the QR code – see toolbox talk below for more information.

The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete. Please take a few minutes to answer the questions thoughtfully and leave comments if you would like to expand on an answer. All responses to the survey are strictly confidential – open and honest answers are important to help us shape our future.

Once the survey is closed, results will be analysed and presented to the FMLT. From there, results and key focus areas will be shared with senior leaders, who will build action plans to directly impact engagement and resolve any issues that may be affecting your experience working at Programmed.

You can find more information about the survey in a toolbox talk by clicking below.

Programmed will make a donation for every completed survey

Our support for our communities is a particular point of pride at Programmed, and to reflect this, the business will make a donation to Lifeline for every completed survey. Lifeline provides support to people experiencing emotional distress, 24-hour crisis support, and suicide prevention services.

Your voice is essential in helping us nurture a positive working environment and in paving the way towards our future success. I’d like to offer a heartfelt thank you for your participation in our engagement survey.

Take care and stay safe,

Graeme Hurn
