In a world of rapidly changing technology and developing AI tools, it can be difficult to know where to begin digging into the possibilities of AI. Where do we start, how can we use it, and make sure that we use it responsibly?
We’re excited to help you answer those questions with the launch of our new Group IT AI Practice hub, bringing all of the information you need into one convenient spot. This is your central hub for AI learning, approved tools, governance, practical use cases, and responsible adoption across Programmed.
Whether you are new to AI, already using Copilot, or have an idea you want to explore, the hub can help you take the next step.
What you'll find
The hub brings together practical information and support to help you use AI with confidence.
You can:
-
Learn about AI and Microsoft Copilot
-
Find approved AI tools and responsible-use guidance
-
Understand AI governance and how to protect business and customer information
-
Explore ways to build with AI
-
Find answers to common AI and Copilot questions

The hub also explains areas that can be difficult to get your head around, including licensing, tokens, credits, and consumption-based costs. We’ve helped to outline the approaches available to help you choose the most appropriate solution.
New to AI or Copilot? Start here
If AI is new to you, an introductory training session is available.
The facilitated session explains Microsoft Copilot, how it works, and how to access its key features. You will explore Copilot Chat, Agents, and Notebooks, along with the differences between Basic and Premium access.
The session is designed for people with little or no previous Copilot experience.
You can access learning through PageUp by registering for a session below.
See AI in action at Programmed
We’re excited to get you on board and join our other Programmed people who are already exploring with AI to solve practical business challenges.
The AI in action at Programmed section of the hub shares examples designed to inspire ideas and show what is possible.
Current examples in progress include:
Parul Rastogi & Tupou Williams' Call Recording Search

An AI-supported search solution that helps authorised users search more than 4.3 million historical call recordings.
Aaron Padoin's Colour Overlay Agent

An AI-assisted solution being explored to apply selected paint colours to site photos and create visual previews.
Robert Coe’s Vendor Allocation Tool
A business-led AI initiative that aims to improve vendor allocation decisions using operational data. The opportunity received seed funding through the AI Work SteerCo process and is currently progressing through an initial proof-of-concept phase.
Maddy Quinn's CV Creation Agent (Copilot Studio first!)

An agent that processes candidate CVs against a SharePoint template and creates consistently formatted documents for human review.
These examples started with real business needs - the hub gives you somewhere to start when you spot an opportunity of your own.
Have an idea? Get started with the AI Innovation Hub
The Group IT AI Practice hub is the next instalment of our mission to empower our Programmed community’s AI journey. But you don’t need to know how to build an AI solution to have an idea - if you’ve thought of an AI solution that could help us tackle everyday business tasks, you can submit it through our AI Innovation Hub.
AI can feel like a big topic, but you don’t need to know absolutely everything at once. The Group IT AI Practice hub gives you one place to start, whether you are learning the basics or looking for new ways to use AI in your work.
This is something we will build together - the hub is an evolving resource that will be regularly updated. The more we share our ideas and learnings, the more useful the hub will become for everyone across Programmed.
